8th Grade Football, 7th Grade Basketball, Tennis
Chris Haney is entering his 7th year coaching at Cedar Bayou. His first (teaching Special Education at Alamo Elementary) and second years (teaching Technology Applications at CBJ) he coached 7th Grade Football, 7th Grade Basketball, sprinters for track, and 7th Grade Soccer. His third year he became the 7th Grade Head Football and Basketball Coach while coaching distance runners for track, and he continued coaching soccer. In the summer of 2018, Coach Haney took the Campus Athletic Coordinator and Head Boys' PE position at CBJ.
He now coaches 8th Grade Football, 7th Grade Basketball, and Tennis while assisting the Track and Soccer teams. Coach Haney and his teams have won district championships on different levels including 7A and 7B football, 7B Basketball, 7th Grade Track & Field, 8th Grade Cross Country, Tennis Doubles Tournament, and 7th Grade Soccer.
While at Cedar Bayou, Coach Haney and his teams have also helped win the Goose Creek All-Around Junior High Boys Athletics award in the 2018-2019 school year. Coach Haney holds a Bachelor Degree and a Master Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. He currently resides in League City with his wife Briana who is a Nurse Practitioner with a Cardiology team and three cats: Cushing, Mimi-Rose, and Monty.
